FenceTown Shipping Policy
The FenceTown home office is located in Nevada, but all of our fences ship directly from the manufacturers. Most are on the East Coast (PA, MI, NJ). Our aluminum fence suppliers offer free shipping if your order total meets their requirements. Free shipping depends on the fence brand, the shipping location, and the total dollar amount of your order. Scroll down for free shipping information.
Shipping costs are separate from residential delivery fees. Trucking companies charge a residential delivery fee for orders arriving on a pallet. Onguard, Ultra, and Elite freight shipping rates include residential delivery and lift gate service. Liftgate service is when the truck arrives with a motorized liftgate to lower the pallets to the ground.
We can waive the residential delivery and lift gate fees if your order ships to a business address off a main road with a loading dock or forklifts. Let us know if your order is shipping to a business address to make adjustment costs.

Residential Delivery Fee
A residential delivery fee of $60-$75 will apply to all orders shipped to a residential location. Trucking companies charge a fee to deliver to a residential area or a limited access area. Your order must be delivered to a business address off a main road with a loading dock or forklifts to remove this fee. The driver would need to unload the materials by backing up the truck quickly. Most orders over $200 ship on a pallet and must be shipped via truck freight, which requires a larger truck. All brands ship orders with lift gate service. Liftgate service means a truck will arrive with a motorized lift gate to lower the pallet to the ground. Liftgate service costs $100 extra. Contact us if shipping to a business address with a loading dock or forklift.

Shipping Rates and Methods
To keep your shipping costs down, we either provide free shipping, charge a fixed shipping rate or a variable rate per order. This shipping charge is displayed in the shopping cart and covers ground shipping and freight within the continental U.S. Shipping large or heavy items can be expensive, so be aware of the costs you will incur when shopping around. Most orders ship via Truck Freight, with smaller orders shipping UPS/FedEx Ground.
Most full size aluminum fence or railing orders will ship via truck freight due to their size and weight. The manufacturers choose the best trucking company for delivery to your area. Sometimes carriers pass off shipments to smaller freight companies that service your area. Do not arrange to install your fence until you’ve received and inspected all items.
If your order ships to a residential address, the trucking companies charge a residential delivery or limited access fee between $60 to $100. The trucking company determines the amount charged for residential delivery. If your order ships to a facility with a shipping dock and/or forklifts, we can remove the residential delivery fee. Residential delivery and shipping costs are two different charges. We ship directly from the manufacturer to ensure your order is delivered as quickly as possible. Production time varies depending on the size, color, and fence brand. Most trucking companies will leave the shipment at curbside or in your driveway. Once your order ships, delivery takes between 1 and 5 business days, depending on your ship-to location. We keep it simple—we focus on offering you the lowest price, the widest selection, and the best service.
Shipping Fence Panels Unassembled
Orders with 6 or fewer fence panels are usually shipped unassembled for two reasons. The first is to save customers money on shipping costs. Standard LTL freight charges can cost several hundred dollars, in addition to the residential delivery and liftgate charges mentioned above. Shipping the fence panels unassembled via UPS or FedEx ground costs you less than shipping via truck freight. The second reason is to avoid shipping damage. Over the years, we have found that sometimes trucking companies stack materials on top of pallets with small orders. Doing this can damage the fence panels and other items on the pallet. We don’t want you to receive damaged items that must be picked up and shipped again. Gates larger than 48 inches tall by 48 inches wide can not ship via UPS ground and must ship via truck freight.
Delivery Tip:
Write – Subject To Inspection – on the truck driver’s bill of lading if you don’t see any damaged boxes or materials. Writing ‘subject to inspection’ will give you a few days to inspect the order for any hidden damage. Contact us immediately if you find any damage or missing items.
NOTE: Due to freight costs, purchasing and shipping a single gate without an aluminum fence can be costly. The cost to ship a single gate is usually the same, if not more, than the gate cost. If you need a single gate, it would be more cost-effective to purchase it locally.
Shipping Terms
Drop Ship
Drop-shipped items are shipped directly from the manufacturer or a warehouse run by one of our national suppliers. We use this method to offer you the broadest selection of products at the lowest cost. Most fence manufacturers don’t deal with the public directly and won’t take fence orders from homeowners.
Delivery Fee
Trucking companies charge a fee to deliver to a residential address. If you provide a business shipping address with a loading dock, they will waive this fee. Delivery charges are in addition to shipping charges. If your order qualifies for free shipping, a residential delivery charge is typically applied to every order.
Lift Gate
Your aluminum fence order arrives on a pallet with shrink wrapped boxes. The driver will move the pallet to the back of the truck onto a lift gate. The pallet will be lowered to the ground and left for the customer to unwrap.
General Info
Add a fence section to the shopping cart to view all related items, such as posts, gates, and accessories. Aluminum fence posts and railing posts come with a post cap. Fence posts have two feet extra in length to put into the ground.
International Shipping
Currently, we can only ship orders to destinations in the lower 48 states. However, you can have your order shipped to a freight forwarder if you want materials shipped outside the continental U.S.
Canada Shipping
FenceTown and the brands we carry do not ship directly to Canada. You can ship to an address on the U.S. border and arrange transportation from there. You could also ship to a freight forwarder in the United States and have the materials shipped from that location. Remember that orders should be inspected before leaving the United States, as any replacements will only ship to the original shipping address.
