Aluminum Pool Fence | Swimming Pool Fence
A swimming pool is a wonderful addition to your home. You want to ensure the safety of those you love by installing an aluminum pool fence around it. Most pool codes or BOCA codes require that a pool fence should be at least 48 inches tall. The bottom horizontal rail should be no more than three inches from the ground. Most aluminum pool fence codes want 45 inches between the two innermost rails. This rule is so a child can’t get a foothold and pull themselves over. Pool fence picket spacing is 3 13/16 to make the less than 4 inch spacing required by pool code. Above ground, pools must also follow state and local pool codes if the water is at least 18 inches deep.
You will need to comply with your local building codes, BOCA codes, or your homeowner organization swimming pool fence codes. Generally, the higher the aluminum pool fence (54″, 57″,60″, or 72″), the more secure it is. All pool code gates need to have self-closing hinges with a magnetic closing latch. The gate will close and lock automatically to protect children. The handle to unlatch the gate needs to be at least 54 inches from the ground to prevent a child from opening it. All FenceTown gates come with spring adjustable self closing hinges. Magnetic latches are included with Jerith gates, whereas these latches are sold separately by the other fence brands.

Pet Panel with Aluminum Pool Fence
Most swimming pool fence styles will not make pool code if you add a pet panel or pet picket to the bottom of the fence. If you need to make local pool code and protect your pets, look at the double picket fence styles. Double picket fence panels have a spacing of 1 5/8 inches, which should make local pool codes.
Powder Coated Swimming Pool Fence
All FenceTown brands powder coat their fence panels, posts, and gates. Powder coating will prevent peeling, cracking, and is a high quality alternative to standard paint. Powder coating will keep your fence looking great for many years, unlike having to paint an iron or steel fence every so often. Pool fence panels come in pre-assembled pre-cut heights and widths. You can easily trim down fence sections with a hacksaw or reciprocating saw.
Racking Pool Fence Panels
All FenceTown fence panels will rack to some degree. Racking means that a fence panel can adjust to the slope of your land without having to be stair-stepped. Solid fence panels or steel and iron fence can not rack at an angle. Our rackable fence panels are better than solid panels because they allow for a secured fence run. Racking also provides a better looking, smoother fence line going up the slopes or hills on your land. Racking an aluminum pool fence panel will keep the pickets pointing upward in a uniformed way when angling the horizontal rails.
FenceTown carries many fence styles, and you can choose from the top pool fence manufacturers such as Jerith fence, Onguard fence, and Specrail fence. Most of our fence styles up to 57 inches tall have an option for a welded base mount on the fence post. Base mounts are for installing posts on hard surfaces like cement or decks.
