Summit Aluminum Railing Post and Wall Brackets
Railing brackets are used for connecting the Summit aluminum railing to posts or a wall. These aluminum brackets fit on an 2.5 x 2.5 sized post or wider and come 4 in a pack. One pack is required for each aluminum railing panel. Each bracket pack consists of two top rails and two bottom rails. Fairfield railing will require a different bracket pack that has a bracket for the middle rail. Most applications are used with aluminum posts, but customers have also used their own wooden posts. Each aluminum bracket has two screw holes on each side for added strength. Attaching the railing panel to a wall using these brackets will require a flat surface. It is recommended to use the wall or post brackets for projects that are higher off the ground for strength and stability. Another option is to use an installation spindle instead of these brackets. Installation spindles look like one of the vertical pickets. Installation spindles should only be considered for areas that are not routinely used or have excessive pressure applied to the railing panel.
Installing Post or Wall Brackets
Each bracket has two screw holes on each side for added strength. Attaching the railing panel to a wall using these brackets will require a flat surface. Self tapping screws are provided with the bracket pack to attach the railing panels to aluminum posts. You may need masonry screws if you are attaching railing panels to a hard surface such as a brick column. Each bracket slides onto the end of the breadloaf top rail and the bottom horizontal rail. When the railing panel is pushed against the post or wall, screw the bracket into place for a strong setting.
