Onguard Starling Aluminum Gate 54H x 72W
This Onguard Starling aluminum gate is made to fit a 73.5 inch opening between posts. Starling gates have a flat top rail to match the 54 inch tall Starling aluminum fence panels. Onguard pool code gates have a welded frame for strength and durability. The aluminum pickets slot down through pre-cut holes in the middle of the horizontal rails. Onguard gates are powder coated for a maintenance free, rust proof finish. The finish is between shiny and matte.
Aluminum Pool Fence Gates
Onguard Starling at 54 inches tall is made to make most local pool codes. Most pool codes require 45 inches between the two innermost horizontal rails. This gate has a welded frame with extra bracing so no cross bar is needed to keep the gate from sagging. The bottom horizontal rail is dropped with no pickets extending past it. This gate does not have a pet panel option so it will make most pool codes. Check your local building codes for pool code requirements in your area. Purchase a magna latch or magnetic latch to make this gate pool code compliant.
Starling Arched and Double Gates
Arched gates are an option for Onguard Starling and are made up to 72” wide. You can create double gates by ordering two of the same gate, and making a note during checkout which gates are double gates. Continuous Arched gates are used to create a single arch over the span of a double gate. Purchase a drop rod to keep one gate closed, and pull out the drop rod when you want to open both gates.
Installing a 54H x 72W Starling Gate
Onguard gates are true to size, so you will need to add 1.5 inches per gate leaf for the hinges and latch between gate posts. Install the hinges and latch with the provided powder coated stainless steel self tapping screws. If you are hanging this gate between columns that are wider than 2 inches, you will have to install the hinges on the corner of the column. To hang the gate in the middle of a column, you will need to build a shim that will allow the hinges to be attached so the gate swings open. If possible, it is recommend to use blank gate posts when installing between columns. Our help articles and Onguard installation guides provide more information on installing gates.
