Aluminum Railing Installation Spindles
Installation spindles can be used on Summit and Fairfield aluminum railing panels. Spindles are an alternative to using wall or post mount brackets to attach the railing section to a post. Installation spindles look like the vertical pickets on the railing, and are installed at the very end of the railing panel. It is recommended to use the wall or post brackets for projects that are higher off the ground for strength and stability. Installation spindles should only be considered for areas that do not have excessive pressure applied to the railing panel. These spindles make most building codes and are powder coated. Installation spindles come 2 in a pack, so one pack should be used per railing panel. You can also use spindles for stair mounting applications.
Installing Installation Spindles
Each spindle has one screw hole at the top and bottom. Line up the spindle at the end of the railing, or attach the spindle to the post first. The railing panel will slot onto the installation spindle when enough pressure is applied. Self tapping screws are included. When using the spindles for stairs, you might have to trim down the railing after racking it at an angle. View the Summit and Fairfield railing installation guides for tips on how to install installation spindles.
