Delivery Fee: Trucking companies charge a fee to deliver to a residential address. If you provide a business shipping address with a loading dock, they will waive this fee. Delivery charges are separate from shipping charges. If your order qualifies for free shipping, there is generally a residential delivery charge on every order.
Back of Truck Freight: Your aluminum fence order arrives on a pallet with shrink wrapped boxes. The driver will move the pallet to the back of the truck and remove the shrink wrap. The customer is required to slide the boxes off the back of the truck. The driver does not have to help. Depending on the size of the order, it is good to have two people present during delivery. Posts are generally in their own boxes. Fence sections come 4-6 in a box and weigh about 20lbs each.
Lift Gate: Your aluminum fence order arrives on a pallet with shrink wrapped boxes. The driver will move the pallet to the back of the truck onto a lift gate. The pallet will be lowered to the ground and left for the customer to unwrap.
Base Flanges: These are used to mount to a hard surface such as concrete or a deck. Standard base flanges will require the customer to cut the posts down and insert them into the base flange. Screws are then used to secure the flange to the post. Some brands offer welded on base flanges where the post is precut and the base flange is welded on the bottom for added strength. Either type of base flange is only recomended up to a 57 inch height maximum.
Fence Racking: This refers to the vertical angle a fence section can be adjusted when the ground follows a slope.
Quality: All brands are generally the same in quality. All brands are powder coated.
General Info: Add a fence section to the shopping cart to view all related items such as posts, gates, and accessories. Aluminum fence and railing posts come with the post cap. Fence posts have two feet extra in length to put into the ground. Gates come with self-closing hinges - and most brands offer a free latch. Delgard and Specrail latches must be purchased separately.
